The Kindness of my daughter

by Laura Smith
(Monticello, IL)

My daughter has always been aware of others feelings and very determined to make sure she makes others happy. A year ago she was at a fundraiser for her brothers school and won a Nintendo DSI basket with games and a DSI. She already had a DSI so she gave it to another child who did not. She could have very easily taken the DSI back to the store and gotten money to spend on herself but choose to make someone else happy. She is a awesome girl and I am very proud to be her mother. She has made tremendous strides with her Aspergers but is still struggling to see it as a gift, but she is getting closer. I would not change her in any way no matter how frustrating some situations get, she is a true angel to me!
