My 10 year old has made significant progress in the areas of social devlopment and emotions for the past year. He mentioned to me that he thought football would be an interestestig experience and I thought I would fall over. I have been working with him with behavioral therapy and was excited to take on the chalenge but a bit afraid that it might be too much. It has been a roller coaster ride with perseverations, anxiety driven melt downs, dietary changes, and understanding of the football world but he is doing very well. He is learning so much that I could never measure it all. I am using a technique called video self modeling and have created videos of his own self reflections through this process. I focus on the positives and edit out negative behaviors as Ridge makes his way along this journey. He has a lot of support but I am his number one cheerleader.
