Potty Training Funny

My son Gannon is 3 1/2 and was first diagnosed with Sensory Integration Dysfunction. We started his potty training when he turned 2 and things seemed to be going so great at the start, but soon a year passed by and then another 6 months. Our occupational therapist cautioned to be patient and warned some kids with Aspergers are over the age of 7 before they are trained. So I purchased cloth underwear with low expectations a month ago.
He LOVES them! They are much easier for him to manage than Pull-Ups and they are more "soft" on his skin too. And he has only had a few accidents. Something just "clicked" and he finally has started distinguishing the sensations of having to go.
Tonight he went in to use the potty before bedtime. I helped him with this pants and was getting his toothbrush ready and we were leaving the bathroom when he said, "Wait mom, I forgot to wash my hands." I thought it was funny that finally after all my coaching to wash, he reminded me once!
