I thought I would update you on the student I worked with as his paraeducator from 6th grade to 8th. He did graduate and wore his gown, walked across the stage with much coaxing. His parents were in tears and so was I. He went on to h.s with me as his aide until Dec. 2010 at which time he would either be on his own or with a new aide. He transitioned to high school beautifully and for the first time since working with him, I heard him say he liked school! He went into the Honors Core and with effort learned to do the amazing amount of work and also socialize appropriately. He is a very funny and talented boy and his classmates enjoy him. He stays in this core for 2 years. So now he will be returning as a sophomore and ON HIS OWN! I can think of no better way to have spent the last 4 years of my life as I learned so much about aspergers and about me. Hooray for this boy!!

Windsor Middle? by: Anonymous
My son is going into 8th grade at private school. I am going through testing at Windsor Middle. He has Aspergers and we got a late diagnoses. Are you an option at Windsor Middle? If you were I might consider putting him there.
