LAUGHING

I am a lesbian female in a relationship with a woman with AS, we are both in our mid-forties and though we struggle immensely around routines and daily functioning, I can honestly say I have never laughed so much with someone.
She has this incredible ability to mimic all kinds of voices and can go off on a tangent in the most hilarious way. She often makes fun of her "missing NT social cues" and makes a funny story out of it. It is most amusing as my 10 yr. old son copies her. She does accents and has great intonation and variability in her voice that she does not normally posess. While it is difficult to say how funny she can be...I can say...the way she makes me laugh makes me love her all the more. She and my son banter back and forth so much that I am laughing so hard I can't stop, the kind of laugh that is just infectious. She had told me that she was worried when we began to date because I had said that I liked someone with a sense of humor which she didn't believe she really had. Well, she has a twisted sense of humor that works for us and I think she should really do some stand up comedy.
I feel connected to her in a way that I don't otherwise. I don't know if this is true for her also but, she sure does laugh with me and for a while the Asperger's has taken a back seat so that my love for her and she for me shines through in a way we both seem to understand. Live, Love, and Laugh a whole lot more...thanks for this forum.
