Reaching out to make life easier for those with Asperger Syndrome has become one of my goals. It's important for me to help those with Asperger and their families realize how special they are. By building this site I hope to inspire people to think about Asperger Syndrome in a different, more positive way.
So why another site on Asperger Syndrome?
Their strong points go unnoticed in the literature I find. Most of the time the focus is on their weaknesses or challenges in life but there are so many positive things they contribute to the world. I know raising a son with Asperger Syndrome has enriched my life in so many ways. It’s all a matter of changing your own perspective. Reading books written by those with Asperger has helped me to learn how to speak " autistic". This has changed my relationship
with our son completely.
In order to grasp the intensity of Asperger Syndrome you have to learn to see and recognize their characteristics.
It’s crucial to learn to communicate with people who have Asperger Syndrome. Their way of communicating might even make more sense than ours…If you truly understand their logical ways and sincerity you wish everybody would be this honest and open!
People with Asperger are entitled to our understanding of the way they function.
To expect them to adjust to OUR ways is to tell a blind person to watch where he is going.
So parents, grandparents, spouses, siblings, teachers, nurses, social workers and all other family members or professionals:
