A mother's day gift

I thought my daughter didn't love me. I couldn't pick her up, cuddle her, stroke her, or even tell her I loved her.
At age 15 she was diagnosed with Asperger's. During the assessment process we had some family counselling, and when Mother's Day came I got a small, hardbacked notebook from her.
The first page said
"I love you because...
And on every page, in multicoloured pens, with little drawings and annotations, she told me why and how she loved me.
"...you are soft and squashy"
"...you bought us a dog"
"...you drive me places"
"...you give me good advice"
"...you understand me"
"...you let me be me"
Needless to say, I burst into tears, and my daughter had no idea why!
